We spent the morning shopping in the plaza today. It was an awesome experience to say the least. We also went to the museum and learned many interesting facts about Huaraz and the surrounding cities. After that we went in to Recuay and had were treated to the most wonderful pasta lunch by the summer missionaries. It was probably the best meal I've had since I've been here, so props to them!
Afterwards the girls asked us to do some prayer walking with them and possibly some door to door evangelism, so of course we said yes. I was able to witness to a young woman who felt very alone and eager to learn about God's Word. Jordan (one of the summer missionaries) and I talked with her for about 25 minutes or so, we prayed with her and we left her with a Bible. I promised I'd look her up when I returned on my next trip. Yes, you heard right...I WILL be returning. There is absolutely no experience like this in the world. To share the message of salvation and to be able to share it with others is amazing. We were all in tears before it was over and I felt I had been put in that place, at that time for that reason. Praise God and all of His Glory.
Tonight I decided to stay here at the hotel so I could have some quiet time, or down time, however you want to say it. We go to church in the morning and Erik, Gloria and I will be singing (hahahaha) and Will will be giving his testimony. We will also be going back into the town of Uctuyaku (sp) tomorrow after church to have Bible study at one of the elder women's house. I purchased two praise and worship cd's at the market a few days ago that we will take to them as well. If they are asking for these things, why not provide them if we have the ability, right?
It's getting late, so I must sign off for now. Please continue to pray for our team as we continue to share God's Word with the people in Peru.
