So, we arrived back in South Carolina last week, July 28th around 3:00 p.m. - well, we landed in Charlotte around that time and slowly made our way back towards Columbia. I was so excited to get home, take a shower and curl up in my own bed. But guess what?!? I couldn't sleep! I was too excited to sleep. I knew Austin would be home around midnight and felt like I'd miss the call if I fell asleep. I wanted to hear about his trip as well, so I knew it was pointless and I should just stay awake.
The last few days of our travels were eventful to say the least. As I was reading through John 10, I thought about how Jesus said "I am the good shepherd" - He is the voice I want to follow. Regardless of the hurdles I encounter by hirelings (v.12), I pray that my eyes, ears & heart remain focused on Him. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." v.7-9 The many obstacles Satan put in our way that day were overpowered by God's voice and direction. There is no doubt that our Good Shepherd guided us and protected us as went through the streets of Lima that day.
