Continued from this morning...

Sorry for the abrupt departure this morning. Our ride showed up and we had to leave to head back to Recuay to visit a school. We had lunch prepared for us by Humberto, one of the translators, and it was different to say the least. We ALL ate cuy, aka guinea pig. Yes, all of us consumed a traditional meal, cooked in a traditional village style restaurant.

I don't remember where I left off, but I can tell you that we ended up in a village (Uctuyacu) where we talked to the village women about how important it is to lead a Christian life and set an example for our children. When I say we, of course I mean parents, not just moms. The summer missionaries kept the kids while we talked. Afterwards we were able to play games, take pictures and the sock monkey was a huge hit.

We got back into Huaraz last night and ate a delicious meal at Brasa Roja. We returned to the hotel and an awesome devotion from Hebrews 11:8-10. Having faith and trusting God and His plan for our lives.

The willingness to learn about God and to learn about salvation just astounds me. There is also a great need for Bibles in spanish. Tommy goes to Lima to purchase these at a discounted rate, but his trips are limited. I will get details from him regarding pricing and how we can help with this expense.

We are getting ready to leave to head back out to Recuay for another parenting session. This one will be held in the town so maybe we will have an even bigger response than yesterday.
